Terrace Bistro Statement - Tuesday March 17th 2020

Dear Guests,

When I opened the Terrace Bistro in May last year, never in a million years did I think I'd be offering a takeaway or delivery menu. For me, the Terrace Bistro was as much about the ambience, the service, the interaction and the surroundings as it was the food. But, I must do everything I can to preserve our position in this mecca of incredible dining choices in this brilliant little village.

So, on this basis, we've put together a short term delivery & takeaway menu for our guests to enjoy which is now live on this website. We hope to have this offering  available from Wednesday 18th March. Please call us for further information on 01925738902.

Also, due to supplier restrictions, we've having to reduce our current menu choices . We've cut back on some options but I feel we still have some wonderful dishes for you to enjoy.

As always, if you have any specific request with any of our dishes, please let us know and we'll do whatever we can for you.

The amount of support we have received has been phenomenal and we can't thank you enough for the kind messages and words you have sent our way, its hard to explain how much we appreciate this.

We'll carry on as normal for as long as we can and we're open should any of our vulnerable residents be in the need of a chat or a free coffee, please just call in and see us, we'll even open Phils secret biscuit stash!

Your New Terrace Bistro


We've had an incredible time since we opened our doors in May, we've met so many people who, like us, love great food, great wine & great service.

There was a nice story behind this journey and also my career in hospitality which started 30 years ago in my very first job at the ‘Lord Daresbury Hotel’ and the 2 AA Rosette fine dining ‘Terrace Restaurant’

I knew how I wanted my business to look so opted for 'fine dining' from the start as I wanted our message to be about amazing, top-end food that no one else is doing - 5-star food, 5-star setting & 5-star service - the complete experience.

We’ve achieved this (you only need to read our fantastic reviews to see for yourself) We’re doing something we love but this message of ‘fine dining’ sounds very formal, expensive and only for special occasions. 

That’s not us. Everyone that visits knows what we offer, and it’s something very special. 

Put simply - we’re a small, intimate, independent venue with a small & simple menu that changes weekly, put together using the very best of our local, fresh & seasonal produce all served in a relaxing, informal and casual environment where you arrive as guests and most definitely leave as friends.

This is our new message, our new vision and our way of welcoming you to our new Terrace Bistro.

 Now living in Sandymoor after spending over 30 years living in Stockton Heath. A seasoned hotelier with over 28 years’ experience. A passion for great food, great wine & great service having managed some of the region’s finest hotels & restaurants.  Happily married to Lucy with 2 daughters - Ellie (17) & Taylor (7) 2 pomeranian dogs Poppy & Pablo, 4 cats (Fudgecake, Muffin, Minnie the Moocher & Tilly Mint) Loves music & a keen drummer with local band The Enginears!

We're locally owned and operated and we strive, wherever possible to use our local suppliers that offer the very best of our fresh  and seasonal produce. Our menus change throughout the month depending on the best ingredients we can source. We're proud to support Alf Ward butchers in the village and all of our micro herbs, leaves and a selection of our vegetables come from @Growing Field 28 in Daresbury

 Our Executive Head Chef, Phil Daley has managed kitchen brigades in some of the region’s most exclusive hotels, venues & restaurants. He brings a wealth of experience to the Terrace Bistro of classical British cookery, often with a twist but always with a focus on taste & presentation whilst producing incredible dishes using the best of our fresh, local & seasonal produce. Awards include Executive Head Chef, Panoramic 34, best fine dining restaurant, North, 2015. Awarded 2 AA Rosettes 2014.
