We've had an incredible time since we opened our doors in May 2019, we've met so many people who, like us, love great food, great wine & great service.
There was a nice story behind this journey and also my career in hospitality which started 30 years ago in my very first job at the ‘Lord Daresbury Hotel’ and the 2 AA Rosette fine dining ‘Terrace Restaurant’
Having worked in hospitality for so long, I'm always looking for somewhere & something special - a proper bistro, a proper restaurant, somewhere that offers not only great food, but also great service, attention to detail, a walm welcome, a friendly conversation, an interest in you. This isn't rocket science, it's what hospitality should look like - and I call this proper hospitality.
I knew how I wanted my business to look so opted for 'fine dining' from the start as I wanted our message to be about amazing, top-end food that no one else is offering - 5-star food, 5-star setting & 5-star service - proper hospitality.
We’ve achieved this (you only need to read our fantastic reviews to see for yourself) We’re doing something we love but this message of ‘fine dining’ sounds very formal, expensive and only for special occasions.
That’s not us. Everyone that visits knows what we offer, and it’s something very special.
Put simply - we’re a small, intimate, independent venue with a small & simple menu that changes weekly, put together using the very best of our local, fresh & seasonal produce all served in a relaxing, informal and casual environment where you arrive as guests and most definitely leave as friends. This is what hospitality should look like, proper hospitality.

Our menus change throughout the month depending on the best ingredients we can source. We're proud to support Alf Ward butchers in the village and all of our micro herbs, leaves and a selection of our vegetables come from @Growing Field 28 in Daresbury
Our Executive Head Chef, Phil Daley has managed kitchen brigades in some of the region’s most exclusive hotels, venues & restaurants. He brings a wealth of experience to the Terrace Bistro of classical British cookery, often with a twist but always with a focus on taste & presentation whilst producing incredible dishes using the best of our fresh, local & seasonal produce. Awards include Executive Head Chef, Panoramic 34, best fine dining restaurant, North, 2015. Awarded 2 AA Rosettes 2014.
